After School Activity Worker – Seasonal Part-Time & Casual

The Opportunity:
To provide direct leadership, facilitation and supervision to children in an after-school activity program.

JOB POSTING: 2020-0100ASAW
DATE: September 18, 2020
POSITION: Seasonal Part Time + Casual (School Calendar Year)
HOURS OF WORK: 2.5 hrs/week plus staff coverage
SALARY RANGE: Grid 9 - $20.11 - $23.42
BENEFITS: Not Applicable 
VACATION: as per ESS policy
CLOSING:  September 25, 2020 at 4:30pm
ANTICIPATED START DATE: ASAP

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To ensure the safety and well being of children at all times by ensuring consistent supervision.
  • To assist in the planning and implementation of age appropriate activities.
  • To ensure activities within each club are focused on program goals and outcomes.
  • To ensures activities within each club are designed to generate participant interest and are age appropriate and well organized.
  • To provide guidance and behaviour management strategies to children/youth engaged in the program.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with school personnel.
  • Keep attendance records and evaluate program success. 
  • Purchase food and program supplies.


Qualifications:
  • Completion of High School
  • Diploma in a relevant field
  • Experience working with children and youth in a social/recreational capacity.
  • First Aid/CPR


Other Employment Requirements:
  • Mandatory Criminal record check 
  • Provide primary source credential verification
