Langley Youth Resource Centre
At the Langley Youth Hub, any youth in our community will find acceptance and care under one roof. The Hub provides opportunities to meet the basic needs of youth such as food, showers, laundry, and toiletries. We also provide services such as substance use counselling and harm reduction programs, mental health counselling, employment and housing support, and life skills training - all of which are imperative in increasing the overall well-being of youth. The services and programs of the Hub are provided in-kind through our partner organizations.
Our History
Youth today are struggling in ways we have not seen in the past; and in Langley, the services are just not there or accessible to those who need the help. Youth travel for hours to find services like substance use counselling, mental health counselling, medical services, and support programs. This inability to access the services and support they greatly need often deters them from seeking it out. Not only is there a lack of available resources, there is also an absence of a youth-driven space where the youth can engage in a positive and healthy way, and a place where they can feel respected, nurtured and empowered.
In 2014, a coalition of youth-serving organizations and advocates in Langley was created to address the health needs of youth in our community. Together, we created the Langley Youth Hub.
The Langley Youth Resource Centre, developed and supported by Marcon Developments, is located in the Township of Langley at 6275 203rd Street. This building is made possible with generous funding contributions from the Township of Langley, BC Housing, the Rotary Clubs of Langley, Langley School District Foundation and private donors.
